Gift Wrapped Basic Techniques and Exquisite Gift Wrapping eBook Jennie Alexander

Creative gift-wrapping adds to the joy of both giving and receiving.
You may be surprised to learn that this form of paperwork craft is easy and many of the elaborate effects shown in this book are actually very simple.
It provides step-by-step photo instructions showing how to wrap a gift to look impressive and stylish.
There’s advice on the best type of wrapping paper to use for each project and finally a chapter on ribbons and bows to add the final finishing touches to your gift – be it for a birthday, as a thank-you or for Christmas.
Gift Wrapped Basic Techniques and Exquisite Gift Wrapping eBook Jennie Alexander
I purchased this book for two reasons. One, obviously, I do not know how to wrap packages. Two, I want to surprise my fiancee this Valentine's Day with gifts not looking like something one has thrown in the trash. If I asked her to teach me how to wrap gifts, she would know "what's up".One area I was disappointed in was the lack of info instructing one how to estimate the amount of wrapping paper one needs for each gift or box.
General instructions are given for the box circumference, that is, around the top and bottom of the box. I had problems estimating the amount of paper one needs to wrap the sides of the box. Once the top and bottom of the box are wrapped, I had to cut paper, from each side, two or three times per side, to complete the wrap without having so much paper on each side of the box that a clean wrap was impossible.
Yes, I am aware of the myriad of items one has available for gifts, however, general guidelines can be handy.
I must also say, not knowing much about gift wrapping, the above might be a next to impossible task.
Wrapping gifts is slightly more involved than I thought before I purchased the book.
There is a learning curve and, if one pays attention, one will improve each time a gift needs wrapping. I wrapped three boxes. Two of the same size and one larger and narrower than the other two. The wraps looked better each time.
Prepare for this by purchasing more material than one thinks one needs.
Have single-sided and double-sided tape on hand.
As I wrapped, I secured the paper with tape for each section. This produces a tighter wrap.
Also, wrapping took approximately 20 minutes per box. I'm sure time will improve.
Anyway, good luck. With a little practice one reaches the point where one will not be embarrassed by one's own gift wrapping.
